Who doesn’t welcome a little “bullet-proofing”?
I collected some bullet casing from a local gun shop and assembled these custom “ammulets”. They make a perfect graduation gift. This one on the left was a gift for my dear friend’s daughter, Mariko. She is an artist and designer and her Hopi grandmother was an amazing metalsmith. She cast the silver acorn and I put it into a shell casing with an amber glass and volcanic beads.
The ones below were made for graduating seniors of Sammamish High School in Bellevue. These “sammamulets” are done in SHS school colors (black and red) and feature oxidized brass bullet shell casings, precious stones, glass beads and Swarovski crystal findings on brass, copper and silver chains. Below are an assortment of other ammulet designs.
